Schools opened in 5 townships in Rakhine.

SAC is able to open schools in 5 townships of Rakhine State, Ann, Kyauk Phyu, Taunggoke, Sittwe and Man Aung. Parents open self-supporting schools with independent teachers for their children in other townships.


Although the schools could be opened in the whole townships of Ann and Man Aung, schools could be opened in urban area at Kyauk Phyu, Taunggoke and Sittwe townships, alleged locals.


Ann township local resident said “No school can’t be opened in Lone, Gazugine, Chin Gone, Pyaung Thay, Mae Let Moung and Dalett Chaung Phyar villages with fighting and villagers fled their villages.


Some people eluded from Taunggoke town to rural area with security concerns, schools opened in urban area.


“My neighbours were frightened and left town to villages. Some came back for school. I could not run way. I sent my daughter to the school. We will run when the battle here.” Said by a parent of Taunggoke.
Man Aung’s schools were open in the whole township, but hardly available education materials in shops.
“All school are opened as regular. Shortage of education materials because rich people bought every material when cargo arrive at, so poor person couldn’t buy they had to wait another cargo arrival” said a teacher in Man Aung.


Parents open self-supporting schools in SAC controlled areas, some of the school were free of charges.
Shortage of education materials after transportation cut off with firefighting on November 13, 2024, price of a dozen note book went high 5000 Kyats to 30000 Kyats.
